Patch Pro Technical Data Sheet
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Patch Pro is a specially formulated blend of white cement, polymer, and other high-performance additives, designed to fill voids and imperfections during the casting process of GFRZ Pro. This advanced cementitious formula offers minimal shrinkage, making it ideal for addressing everything from fine pinholes to larger surface voids. Patch Pro achieves sufficient hardness for sanding or polishing typically within 24 hours, depending on environmental conditions and the water-to-mix ratio.
MIXING: Just Add Water.
Mix Ratio: Approximately 3 parts powder to 1 part water by volume. For example 1 cup (8 fl. oz.) of powder to 2.6 - 2.8 fl. oz. of water. This can be modified slightly depending on if you need a thinner consistency for tiny pinholes or a thicker consistency for larger voids. Should be similar in consistency to drywall compound.
Directions: Begin by placing a small amount of Patch Pro powder into a clean mixing container. Gradually introduce water to the powder, mixing continuously to monitor the consistency. Be cautious, as a minimal amount of water can significantly affect the mixture. Add water slowly to achieve the desired consistency. Once the desired consistency is reached, you may incorporate any pigment as needed. Gradually add the pigment while mixing to ensure even distribution. When attempting to match a specific color, such as one used in your GFRZ Pro mix, it is often most effective to visually compare the wet concrete color during casting. Patch Pro will lighten to a similar degree as it cures, making the wet appearance a good reference point for matching.
Note: Patch Pro does not contain any sand or fine aggregates so exact color matching can be difficult. The goal is to be within the natural color variation exhibited in the concrete. It is best to always conduct a test first if close color matching is important.
TYPICAL APPLICATION: Once Patch Pro is properly mixed, it can be applied using a gloved hand, squeegee, or rubber scraper. Depending on your project’s needs, you may choose to apply the slurry either to the entire concrete casting or solely to areas with visible voids. However, for the best results, it is generally recommended to apply Patch Pro over the entire surface of the casting. This ensures a uniform finish and addresses even the smallest imperfections, resulting in a smoother final product.
To begin, apply the slurry evenly across the surface, pressing it into any voids or pinholes to ensure complete filling. Be mindful of working the material thoroughly into all surface imperfections to avoid air pockets. Once the slurry is applied, allow it to cure based on environmental conditions and the mix’s water content, typically 24 - 48 hours. Keep in mind the longer you wait, the harder it will become to remove the excess material.
After Patch Pro has cured sufficiently, the excess material can be sanded or polished off to achieve the desired surface finish. Sanding or polishing will reveal a smooth, seamless surface. Allow the Patch Pro to cure for at least 48 hours before sealing.
